Versiti Blood Center Wisconsin

With the holiday season right around the corner it is important to keep things in perspective. This year the country has experienced a shortage in the supply of blood that has effected many. Just this past summer, the supply of blood got as low as a "days worth" of blood in the state of Wisconsin and Illinois. That is why Versiti is calling on the young college students of Milwaukee to get out and make a blood donation.

Versiti Blood Center will be hosting blood drives at three Universities located in Milwaukee. Marquette University, UW-Milwaukee, and Milwaukee School of Engineering will all be locations of blood drives hosted by Versiti. Versiti is partnering with local bars and restaurants to help motivate students to come out and donate.

Versiti will be hosting the locations at the following dates listed below:

UW-Milwaukee Norris Health Center: November 17th

Marquette University Alumni Memorial Union: November 18th

Milwaukee School of Engineering: November 19th

The blood drive will be taking place each day from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Donations are essential for trauma patients and people undergoing a variety of situations, including surgeries, transplants, chronic illnesses, blood disorders and cancer. Over 90% of people who are eligible to donate do not. Because of this there is always a constant need for blood donations.

Any questions on how to donate or what to expect? Check out our FAQ page.

What a great cause to spread awareness about. Reminds me of the Carson Wentz (aka QB1) initiative “Thy Kingdom Crumb”. Because it’s God, Country, Football (in that order). And although the latter is about ripping the heart out of your opponent, the first two are about strengthening the heart of your community. So in a lot of ways, you’re kind of like a QB1 in waiting, Jack. Kudos and God Bless. #HORSE
